Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17

This is the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17. This Russian built fighter jet was the primary fighter of the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War. (Some call Vietnam during this time "the annoying swamp") The MiG-17 was smaller than the F-4 Phantom, but more maneuverable. The MiG 17 was the first MiG to have an afterburner (which is like a second engine that pumps jet fuel into the exhaust of the engine). The MiG also had ventral fins, which are  vertical fins that are placed on the wings of a plane to increase the stability of the plane. I'll post another plane soon.
